IN THE THEATER [2014]

NOTE: Reservations are always accepted, either by email to <reservations@denmarkarts.org>, or by phone to 207/452-2412. Many events do sell out, so be sure to reserve tickets early!

Once again we invite you join us for an evening of Good Humor, in the well-known Readers Theatre style, surrounded by friends and community in the air-conditioned comfort of the Denmark Arts Center. Sound like a good recipe for a mid-summer evening? You bet it is! So put the dates (above) on your calendar and round up your friends for an evening of giggles and guffaws!  Directed by Penny Morris, Brian Grennan, and Allene Westleigh.

PLACEHOLDERS

with the Hio Ridge Dance

Join Denmark’s own Hio Ridge Dance Collective  for the World Premiere of a new dance piece, commissioned especially for the DAC, exploring the town of Denmark itself.   Placeholders, an original evening length dance, is about this situating, exploring how the location of their new base best serves their artwork and how their artwork best serves the town. As a method to settle into this community and landscape, HRD will spend the summer making dance, writing comedy, painting, sculpting, and shooting film, all sourced from Denmark scenery, residents, and charm. All this, along with contributions from visiting artist friends, will provide the raw materials for a World-premiere production!

Stay updated on HRD’s process and how you can participate at hioridgdance.com.

Show sponsored in part by the Maine Arts Commission and the Maine Humanities Council.
