CODE OF CONDUCT.
The Denmark Arts Center (DAC), housed in the historic 1883 Odd Fellows Hall in western Maine, is a gathering place for all ages. We foster joy, creativity, inclusivity, and community through the arts.
To support this mission, DAC has adopted this Code of Conduct to ensure a welcoming, respectful, and safe environment for everyone attending events or using our facilities.
We are committed to maintaining a space free from discrimination, harassment, and microaggressions, including those based on race, color, creed, religion, national origin, citizenship, sex, marital status, age, disability, gender identity, or expression. Participants are expected to engage respectfully and remain mindful of others and their surroundings.
Unacceptable Behavior
Behavior that is disruptive, potentially harmful, or detracts from any Denmark Arts Center event will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to:
Refusing to cease behavior when asked
Harassment or intimidation of any kind
Speech or actions that exclude or demean others
Disruption of performances, workshops, or other programs
Possession of firearms or weapons of any kind on the premises
If you witness inappropriate or harmful behavior, please report it to a staff member immediately.
Consequences
By purchasing a ticket or attending an event, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. If you are found to be in violation of its tenets—as determined by Denmark Arts Center staff or designated representatives—you may be asked to leave the premises and/or prohibited from returning to future events per the discretion of the organization.
Due Process
If you are denied access or removed from an event under this Code, you may request a review of the matter by the Denmark Arts Center Board of Directors within 30 days after the event has concluded. However, any action taken will be effective immediately and will remain in place unless reversed by the Board. No refunds will be issued unless the Board decides to overturn the original decision.
